Chakra #2 - Sacral Chakra

Sacral chakra or Swadhisthana. Chakra #2 is orange and is associated with your genital area, ovaries, creativity, emotion and sensuality. It represents creativity, sex and your ability to accept new relationships/situations into your life.

Ways to Heal This Chakra:

  • Eat orange foods, such as carrots, oranges and capsicum peppers.

  • Be gentle and kind to yourself.

  • Pamper yourself with a long bath with bath oils and candles.

  • Binge on romantic movies, alone or with a partner.

  • Celebrate the little successes in life.

  • Visualise orange pouring into and surrounding this chakra.

  • Use Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang essential oils.

  • Use Moonstone and Carnelian crystals in your home and meditation area.

Meditation. Meditation is great for balancing and healing the sacral chakra and all the other chakras too. Crystals. Surround yourself with orange citrine, carnelian, amber, moonstone, and tiger’s eye, all are associated with the sacral chakra. These crystals will benefit other chakras as well. Foods. The orange foods associated with the sacral chakra are all delicious, healthy and can be sensual as well. Orange, fleshy fruits like oranges, papaya, peaches, and mangos. All are fragrant and delicious.

Water. Water is the element associated with your sacral chakra. Spend time near the water. Take walks near a lake, pond, or along the ocean. Spend time near fountains if you are city-bound. Take baths and showers. Go swimming as often as possible. Movement. Move more, exercise, dance and yoga. Dance involves movement and flow which are great for the sacral chakra, allow your body to move any way it feels. Yoga poses that open the hips are also great for the sacral chakra. Massages. The physical connection of a massage generates the feel-good hormone oxytocin, which is wonderful for your mood and your overall outlook and opens the Sacral Chakra. Color. Color therapy can be very healing, wear orange to lift your spirits and shift your mood, it will also lighten the mood of the people around you. Aromatherapy. Orange and citrus scents are great mood lifters, use orange peels, or natural orange and citrus candles and oils. Pamper yourself. By focusing on and taking care of yourself you will open the Sacral Chakra. Do those things that make you happy and make you feel better and better about yourself.
