Chakra # 3 - Solar Plexus Chakra
Solar plexus chakra or Manipura. Chakra #3 is yellow and is associated with your navel area, pancreas, self will, self esteem, courage, and personal power. It represents confidence, thoughts and feelings, and our ability to be in control of your life.
Ways to Heal This Chakra:
Get outside into the bright yellow sunlight.
Eat yellow foods, such as lemons, bananas, sunflower seeds and corn.
Drink camomile tea.
Be aware of who you spend time with, surround yourself with people who care about you.
Do not put yourself down.
Visualise a bright yellow pouring into this chakra and your abdomen.
Use Camomile, lemon as essential oils.
Fill your meditation area with the Crystals Tiger’s Eye, Amber and Citrine.
Chakra imbalances occur as either an excess of energy or an energy deficiency. For this third Chakra that would result in either controlling, intolerant, or excessively competitive behavior or insecurity, anxiety and fear. Healing the solar plexus chakra involves:
Meditation to open the Manipura. One simple exercise is to envision a brilliant yellow sunflower over your solar plexus chakra. This can be even more effective with the use of chakra stones or crystals. Solar plexus chakra healing stones include yellow stones like citrine, amber, yellow tourmaline and tiger’s eye. Aromatherapy can also be helpful for Manipura chakra healing. It can be used while meditating or practicing yoga, or as a stand alone therapy at any time. Citrus essential oils like lemon, orange and grapefruit are good for healing the solar plexus chakra, as are chamomile, mint and ginger.
Yoga asanas that focus on your core are perfect for Manipura healing. The Warrior Pose is the easiest yoga asana for opening Manipura and practicing it for a few minutes every morning will begin to open your solar plexus. Other helpful asanas are Boat Pose (Navasana), which strengthens the core, and Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar). Attempting more advanced and challenging poses or gently pushing yourself, can also help balance Manipura. Sunlight. The solar plexus chakra is associated with the sun and it's element is fire, getting outside can help open or balance energy. Meditating or doing yoga outdoors on sunny days will maximize your healing practice, but simply going outside for a walk or sunbathing will help open your solar plexus chakra and lift your spirits as well. Sunlight is energy that easily transfers.
